This roadway is very often to me, have travelled it most of times with friends at a scale of picnic or enjoyment. But this time, my passion for photography and travelling rolled my prospective for ranging this place. Barvi dam is an earthfill dam on the Kalyanthane river located on the Murbad - Badlapur road, about 20 kms from Badlapur. The dam came into its work endurance in 1978 and is still under Govt. of Maharashtra.

My Journey initiated on my bike travelling alone with camera, lenses, water bottle, napkin, sunglasses and a hunger for nature. I started at 6 AM, crossing the region of Sonivali (Our farmhouse helds at Solivali), Rahatoli, Mulgaon, heading straight to Dam.

My bike Heading towards Barvi Dam |
I reached the Dam region around 6:40 AM, firstly I sighted the water-flow region of the dam, the whole scenario was dried, stones and pebbles had become so rough that it dint felt water for months.

Then I carried to the reservoir scene region. There was plenty of water storage. I was clipping the waterfull moment in my eyes, suddenly a aged fellow walking around the road side said " Dev bi kai dis dakhvun rhaylay, eke jamani hyo dam bharun bharun vhaycha ni ata sukaat houn gelay "( O God, we are facing such a bad time, their was a reign when this dam use to fill to its whole and now has jus remained with dried water ). That time realizes that the water storage what I was seeing is not what people expect in this dam. Thinking about the lac of water in these small villages, I found my self & all the people living in city somewhere satisfied, atleast we are receiving water daily for few hours.

Later, I continued to a Adivasi pada, parallel to the reservoir region, a light jungle ride on my bike. I captured two birds their in, one was an Spotted dove bird & other was a Indian roller.

Then I travelled down the reservoir adjoining road and visited the Asnoli village area (Sighted on the banks of River Barvi). I took a hold for around one and half hour in that area.

Royal Oranged coloured Dragonfly |
Captured a beautiful Royal orange coloured Dragonfly, flickering around the pebbles on the river side.
The next mega bird I sighted was Cormorant, seating on the tree, also was dripping itself in water. This specie which I saw was a Neotropic Cormorant.
