A ride after five long months.
I have finally completed my pre-sea course at IMA-Chennai & back in Badlapur, Mumbai for a long stay. Monsoons are up & it time to get started for monsoon expeditions 2017 !!
TIKONA FORT - VITANDGAD |
The overall journeys covers a Ride to Tikona peth & trek to Tikona Fort (Vitandgad). The plan was executed on 16th July 2017.
The team included Raj, Ajay & Yash from Navi Mumbai, Me from Badlapur & Manoj & Rishit (Manoj's son) from Loanavala. Manoj & rishit reached Tikona peth by car much before than us. I started from Badlapur at 7:30 AM & I met the guyz from Navi mumbai at the Chowk phata on Mumbai Pune old highway at 8:45 AM. Later we moved via Khopoli, Khandala, Lonavala & turned inside right at the Kamshet circle. We bikers rided towards the Tikona peth (base village). We also took breakfast enroute & reached the base village, met manoj at 10:30 AM. We parked our vehicles near a localite's house & initiated the trek.
The walk from village to climb portion waves you the full front view of Tikona fort. Fort holds top point on 3580 fts, located between Pune & Lonavala. History marks the fort within the hands of Mughals & Marathas around 17th century. Presently the fort is a ruined conditions, generally visited by trekkers/hikers.
Monsoon treks are always awesome because you dint get much exhausted & thirsty, as well as plus point of Tikona fort is you gain the height much faster.
It was around 1 hour 20 mins hike, as the place was much crowded as being a sunday & also the showers held our time for photo captures. The climb consist of fort wall zig-zag climb in muddy patches, walk & floor up of table land from back side of fort, & finally conjusted climb on the wrecked stone steps with 70* angle. At the top is the temple of Lord Vitandeshwar. The top end point gives you an eye pleasing view three horizontal layers. Lower is the Base village, middle is the water reserves of Pawna lake & upper is the tomb of Tung Fort pierced into clouds.
Further we climbed down to half path & visited the Secret Enrty (Chor Darwaza) which opens at the slippery, grassy walls of fort. Later, we descended & walked back to our rides.
While returning, we also snapped the scenes of Pawna lake with Tung Fort. We had our Lunch cum evening snacks time at a Restaurant near Kamshet. Then we started towards home around 6 PM from Kamshet. Manoj & Rishit waved Bye in Lonavala, & I left the Navi mumbai guyz at chowk phata. I reached my hometown Badlapur at 8 PM.
