This was planned a month ago, but the actual ride went with some on time changes.
It was August 12th 2017, time was 6:30 AM & I started from my home Badlapur, Raj Nagle, Ajay Mhatre & Abhishek Narashimha Started from Khargar. Enroute, Manoj sinkar joined from Lonavala. The rains flew away as we passed Pune. It was a dead dry ride as on a hard sunny day. Due to traffic in Pune, we delayed our ride by 2 hours & then we routed via Patas, Daund to Dharamveergad (Bahadurgad), Pedgaon, Ahmednagar at 3:30 PM. The Fort is widely situated on Banks of River Bhima, holding ancient temples, sculptures & carvings, Royal Mahal fort ruins. Once 200 first rate Arab horses & some riches arrived at the fort, The fort was in Command of Bahadur Khan. Shivaji Maharaj (Founder of Maratha Emperor) organised a force of 9000 soldiers, out of which 2000 were sent for fight. As as defensive fight began with Khan's force, The whole fort was left less defensive & so quickly the remaining 7000 Maratha force acquired the fort, took the horses & riches & fled. As i today, the fort is in ruins but still can spend a quality time admiring the stone work. We explored the fort till 6:30 PM & then left for the route of Karmala via SH67. It was getting much darker, so we stopped & took a stay at Rashin prior to reach Karmala. There by done our dinner & slept.
13 August, we started from Rashin at 8:30 AM, reachedKkarmala at 9:30 AM. The history of Karmala fort remains a mystery, well the city has recently came into limelight due to shooting & casting of Great Indian Marathi Film: Sairat. The Karmala Fort is undertaken by villagers, people have settled there houses within the fort limits. This fort is also very less explored, & is in ruined condition. There is a Hanuman temple too in front of Fort's Main entrance. It took hardly 15-20 minutes to take a overview of this little monument. Later, we carried the same route SH67 to reach Paranda Fort, Osmanabad. The Fort is located mid-city on a wide land canvas of 12 acres. It is surrounded by trench & moat from all side which was always kept filled with water, & the only main entrance have a huge Rampart to walk in. The fort is in a well maintained condition, the cannons guns & balls are still preserved. At present, it undergoing some minor rebuilding. It took nearly two hours to overview the fort. It also has a step well, & the multiple bastion surrounded fort is clearly to good place to visit.
We did our Lunch there itself, & routed for Naldurg Fort at 12:30 PM. Enroute, at Barshi we saw & clicked a old built structure roadside, might be some historical thing. We reached Tuljapur at 3:15 PM, seek a view from outside, prayed & moved further for Naldurg. We reached Naldurg Fort, Osmanabad at 4:30 PM. Naldurg is a very vast Fort to be explored on a short time run. The prime locations to cover were the Upalya Buruj & Naldurg Falls (Nar & Madi). The entry into the fort is crossing two main walls & Halmukh Darwaja. It takes around 20 minutes to walk till the Upalya Buruj, walking towards it you can see The Naldurg reservoir formed due to a Back stream of Bori Dam. The Wall of naldurg Reservoir has two huge stone built openings, one is NAR(male) & other is MADI(female). The overflow of excess water from reservoir results in Naldurg Waterfalls. It was not able to click images in the fort due to Non-allowances of Camera -_- ! We climbed the Upalya Buruj, It is Huge & from top gives the 360 degree view across the fort. We started our return walk & reached the parking at 7 PM. We planned to take a stay in Solapur city & so we routed towards Solapur city. In an hour or so, we reached outskirts of Solapur city & were routing on NH65. We took a stay near by, had dinner & laid our minds to sleep.
It was the last day of the ride, we planned to visit Akluj Fort (Near by Pandharpur). So, we had our Breakfast & initiated the last day run at 8 AM. We routed NH65 till Tembhurni, then opted some inner roads to some how reach Akluj at 11 AM. Akluj Fort is a Shiv Shrushti, Museum depicting the Whole life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharj. The main Buruj (Command pillar) at centre continues from the ancient times, top of it holds a Golden statue of the Legend, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, all other surrounding have been constructed in recent 10 years. The overall is a must visit place, well maintained & landscaped with all those historical memories in form of statues, sculptures, frames, etc. It was now 1 PM & we started for our return ride.
We had our lunch at outskirts of Akluj & routed by SH70 via Phaltan & Lonand, there by joining NH48 which continued till Kapurhol. It was 7 PM & we routed a path inside towards Alande village for a view as Necklace point, A small Back stream off Bhatghar dam runs in such way giving a necklace shape. The clicks from this point were not so good, since it became quite dark. We traced back till Kapurhol & further routed towards home. Prior to Kothrud, two of our Bikes got punctured & ruptured their tubes. It took nearly 3 hours go get helped & resolve the problem. It was 12:30 AM & we finally started somewhere from Kothrud. The ride continued slowly & sleepy, we waved byee to Manoj in Lonavala & further Ajay, Raj & Abhishek continued to Khargar while I routed from Karjat & reached Badlapur at 4:30 AM.
The Overall ride was full of exploration of forts into untouched regions of Maharashtra, One should surely visit these places for view the ancient construction & architecture. I Kindly request to all my readers, To aware yourself & others that Not to spoil dignity & beauty of these places. Those are the parts of our Culture & history thereby to be preserved Carefully.
