Ride to Koyna Dam: The plan was executed on 26 November 2017. Me & Ajay Mhatre, on our respective bikes completed this 640 Kms Ride in 20 hours.

We routed as follows : Badlapur - Karjat - Pali - Mangaon - Mahad - Poladpur - Kashedi Ghat - Parshuram Ghat - Chiplun - Alore - Kumbharli Ghat - Koyna Nagar (Koyna Dam Visit) - Umbraj - Satara - Pune - Lonavala - Karjat - Badlapur.
Koyna Dam is one of the largest dam in Maharashtra. It is a rubble-concrete dam constructed on river Koyna. The dam is nestled in the Western Ghats on state highway between Chiplun & Karad.
The total capacity of the dam is 2797400000 cu.meter. The main purpose of Koyna dam is Hydroelectricity with some irrigation in near by regions. "Koyna Hydroelectricity Project" is the largest completed hydroelectric power plant in India till date.
The Koyna Garden (Nehru Udyaan) is well developed & maintained. Consist of flower gardens, landscapes, children space, small auditorium & a Balcony point from where we can see the view of Koyna Dam & reservoir.
