A Hardcore Monsoon SOLO Bike Ride
A stunning & marvellous bike ride, committed just to test my capacity for riding & the results were outstanding. This is a solo bike ride includes 3 Ashtavinayak Ganapati visit in one single day, the total strech is of 520 KM in 18 hours including 50 % of ride by rural road, 5300feets high Tahmini Ghat ride, blind riding with cloud levels & a ride without headlight, without horn, indicators & tail lights from Pune to badlapur at 7pm to 11:50 pm.
This Ride was planned a bit earlier but heavy rains were obsructing me to schedule it. Finally the date arrived, 13 August 2016. It was 5 AM, I woked up & carried morning freshning activities tied the luggage to my bike & sharp at 6 AM I initiated it from my home town Badlapur. The plan was such to cover three places namely Pali, Morgaon & Theur. The initial route I picked was the same in many of my rides, Badlapur to pali via Vangani, Neral, Karjat, Palasdari, Madh, Durshet. Finally I reached Pali around 8:45 AM. These morning 90 KMs were just a refreshment dose of the ride. I visited the Temple of Ballaleshwar Ganapati, one amongst the Ashtavinayaks. Made some captures & departed further.
It was around 9 AM I departed from pali, now the next visit was at Morgaon which was around 200 KMs away & the biggest hurdle was Tahmini Ghat. En route, I captured many pictures namely of Sarasgad, Amba river joint, Rawalje, etc. Then arrived the Lengendary Tahmini Ghat one of the deadliest & breathtaking scenario of nature. This Ghat is known for its wrecked roads, dead end curves, 5300 feets high motorable pass, situates within the cloud levels, blind riding within clouds, huge waterfalls, etc which makes it a perfect adventure for peole like me. It takes you to a temperature of 9-10 degree C during day time. I captured many pictures at Tahmini Ghat. Further the Ghat sections ends in curvy road adjoing Mulshi Dam reservoir for several kilometers.
The Road further continued my ride till the joining of Pune-satara highway. I traced the highway till Kapurhol. Then I took a left turn, again a rural path which leaded me till Saswad. From Saswad, I took a right turn, a state highway continued till Jejuri & from their I bent towards left for my next destiny Morgaon via Kolvihire. Finally with a hardcore patch of 204 KMs, I managed to reach Morgaon sharp at 2:45 PM. There was a huge waiting line for the temple visit but finally it got darshan of Mayureshwar Ganapati, one amongst Ashtavinayak within 45 minutes. There too I clicked many pictures, & done my Lunch at a small hotel.
I departed from Morgaon sharp at 4 PM. My schedule was running around 1 & half hour late but keeping my brain cool I started my lead towards Theur which situated around 70 KMs away. I traced back the path till Jejuri, captured the images of Malhargad & took a right turn for my next destiny Theur. This route was very horrible, all wrecked road & slippery mud patches. This route leads to Theur via Belsar & Loni kalbhor. At Loni Kalbor, we join up the Pune-Solapur Highway, took a left for several kilometers & then a Right turn into a village ride. Finally I crossed these 72 KMs & reached Theur at 5:30 PM. There was a huge waiting line which costed my whole 1 hour 10 minutes to visit the Chintamani Ganapati, one amongst the Ashtavinayaks. Finally I got the Darshan, also captured some pictures before visiting the temple before getting Dark.
I bought some sweets as prasad & tied my luggage to the Bike again. It took a refreshing sugarcane juice which stabilized the sugar level in my body making me feel energetic again. As per plan, the decided locations were succesfully visited. It was almost 360 KMs from morning & 12 hours. The home was 160 KMs away. Making a healty mind set, I departed from theur at 7 PM. Joined the Pune-Solapur highway & leaded towards Pune. It was 7:30 PM when I reached Hadapsar, several Kms prior to Pune. Called up my cousin Mr.Prashant Mali, who lives in Hadapsar for his career. We met after a very long time. Our talks ended around 8:20 PM & I eparted for Baldpur from there.
That was the instance I realised that my Bike's Headlight, Tailight, Horn, Indicators, Meter light have stopped functioning. This was a very critical moment for me. I showed up into a local Garage, the mechanic said that All fuses are proper, wiring is to be taken which take an hour or two. I was not in the condition to make a repai procedure there in Pune. With the same condition, I dragged my Bike out of Pune via Pimpri(By the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway). Taking the judgement of surrounding vehicles headlamps, I managed to ride till Lonavala. Futher, an edge comes where if you know you can continue Old highway, or the Road will straight you directly to expressway. Fortunately, a Bike rider helped me to pass the khandala Ghat & we continued in his headlight till Chowk Phata. Later, I took Right turn for Karjat following a Mini truck's light beam. From Kajat, there was no one who can lead me towards badlapur. I waited for 20 minutes & fortunately got a rider who was also heading for Badlapur. We made it possible in his Hedalight beam till Badlpur, He stopped at Kharvai & I Managed to reach home as the street light section of Badlpaur started. Finally I reached home around 11:50 PM.
The overall ride was made of 90 + 204 + 72 + 157 = 523 KMs. These 18 hours were the most memorable riding hours of my life. My Bajaj Pulsar 150 always manages to complete the aims.
Riding a Bike is not a tough thing, but riding it so long & completing a challenge like I did requires alot of passion & patience. Make your Soul burn its capacity to the fullest, no dream will be too large & no success will be too far.
This was my Last ride, beacuse now I am starting my career schedule at Chennai but I make a promise that my vacations will surely bring out more adventures for you.
